Join in God’s work in the world – at home or around the globe.

Mission in the church is people having a heart, passion and desire to share their faith with others.

We recognize that everyone has different skills and different life experiences and that provides a diversity of people with different gifts and therefore lots of different ways of doing mission.

Sometimes that works best overseas or sometimes that means doing things more locally.

Initiatives we partner with

  • Storehouse, Belfast

    We partner with Storehouse Belfast as a collection point for food donations.

    Storehouse works to encourage dignity and significance in those living in poverty, in and through the provisions of the basic essentials of life.

    Each month we drive a collection of one specific food item which can be dropped off into the trolley in the foyer

  • Christians Against Poverty

    We currently partner with CFC and a number of local churches to support the local east Belfast CAP centre – giving free debt help to anyone feeling weighed down by their financial situation.

  • Wycliffe Bible Translators

    We partner with the Wycliffe Bible Translators Aru Project to support the work of Katy and Jock Hughes in translating the Bible into the Dobel language.

    The Dobel language is spoken in the Aru Islands of Indonesia.

  • Welcome Churches

    We have recently joined the Welcome Churches Network – whose vision is to see every refugee in the UK welcomed by their local church.

    We are working to explore how best we can serve, support and care for refugees arriving into our city.

  • East Belfast E3 Scripture Union

    We partner with SUNI to support our local E3 Schools woker - Sarah Coglhan.

    SUNI’s E3 Schools’ Project is a localised form of Schools’ Ministry, where a local ‘E3 Worker’, backed up by local volunteers and churches, works over a set District, to engage, equip and empower students for ministry in their own school environment.

Supporting Short & Long Term Mission

Short Term

Short term mission is a great way to get a flavour of what God is doing in the world, and to experience something of the global Church. Being involved in short term mission trips will often be eye-opening and transformative experiences, as we grasp a bigger picture of God at work in different cultures, people groups and team environments.

If you are thinking about or planning to be involved in a short term mission project, please talk to the ACTS (Mission) Team before applying so that we can help prepare and support you.

Long Term

As a Church family, we provide a number of forms of support for those from Strandtown who are currently giving over their lives to work in a full-time ministry and mission role. This includes prayer, finance, and practical and pastoral support.

If you are a part of the church family at Strandtown and are considering a full-time ministry role we would like to help you explore God’s will for your life and partner with you on your journey.
