At Strandtown we work hard to provide a safe and secure environment for all children and young people so that any parent or carer can be confident that their child is well supported and looked after at any of our events or programmes. For your information you can view a copy of our safeguarding policy below.


Information for Volunteer Applications

Adults (18+)

If you are 18+ and hoping to get involved in serving in Strandtown in any capacity that involves working with children or young people, then you will need to:

  1. Complete an internal Over 18s Application to Work with Children & Young People (SBC Form 1)

  2. Click here to Apply for an Enhanced Check (AccessNI) Through a Registered Body (using the PIN number provided by Andy Coulter) - see below for instructions. The ACCESSNI Codes of Practice are available to view here.

  3. Print off the ID Validation, below. Using link from number 2., scroll down to Green Button 'Apply for ENHANCED check' and go to site. Create an account using your email address then activate the account from the email that will be sent to you. Revisit the link and Green Button and log into your account to complete ENHANCED application. Note your ACCESSNI unique number on ID Validation Form

  4. Complete Self Declaration Form (seal it in separate envelope) and submit with ID Validation Form and ID to Andy Coulter, Sam Crawford or Lauren Greeves. A copy of our Security of Data Policy can be viewed below (re. handling, storage and retention of your data).

  5. Attend Child Protection Training at Strandtown

  6. Read & be familiar with our Safe & Secure policy document

  7. If this is your first time application please also complete/bring your Form 1 (Over 18) Application available below – return to Andy Coulter, Sam Crawford or Lauren Greeves.

14-18s

If you are 14-18 and hoping to get involved in serving in Strandtown in any capacity that involves working with children or young people, then you will need to:

  1. Complete an internal 14-18s Application to Work with Children & Young People (SBC Form 2)

  2. Attend Child Protection Training at Strandtown

  3. Read & be familiar with our Safe & Secure Policy document
